Digi-DCL respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy and current legal framework.
In this Privacy Policy we present the steps our program follows to ensure that the processing of your personal data is always carried out in compliance with GDPR and current legislation. In this Policy, “Digi-DCL”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to MA in Digital Transformation: e Diplomacy, e-Campaigning and Digital Law.

Data ControllerData Controller for collection, storage and processing of users' personal data, as collected and stored through Digi-DCL’s website and social media pages linked to the website is Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, 136, Syngrou Av., 17671, Athens, Greece (you can see here the University’s

Collection of Information and Legitimate Purposes The personal data we collect is the data you provide us when you use our official website: https://digi-dcl.com/ or interact with us via our email and/or our administrative staff’s email addresses, for clearly defined legitimate purposes and legal bases.
3.1. Information You Provide: [a] Communication via Digi-DCL’s email address: digi-dcl@panteion.gr and/or our administrative staff’s email addresses. You provide us with data such as identity data, contact data, demographic data, and biographical data. All the information will only be used, as necessary, to answer your question on the basis of your consent and current legislation.
[b] Application for attending the MA through our official website: https://digi-dcl.com/. You provide us with:
- Identity Data (Name, Father's and Mother's Name, Photo, Identity or Passport Number, Date of Birth, Tax Number, Social Security Number)
- Contact data (Postal address, mobile phone, email address)
- Demographic data (Country of Origin)
- Biographical data (CV)
All the above information will only be used as part of the selection process and will be evaluated by the Selection Committee to end up on the shortlist on the basis of your consent and in accordance with our Study Agreement and our Annual Call for Applications.
[c] Registration in the program. You provide us with additional data, in accordance with current legislation, so that we carry out the necessary identification of data and verify the legal conditions for attending the courses on the basis of your consent and in accordance with our Study Agreement and our Annual Call for Applications. This data is transmitted to the Secretariats of the two collaborating Departments responsible for enrolling the students, creating university accounts and emails for our students and our partners, and giving access to the student database and e-class platform, in collaboration with the university’s IT Department, on the basis of your consent and in accordance with our Study Agreement and our Annual Call for Applications.
[d] Application for a tuition waiver in accordance with Law 4957/2022. You provide us with financial, health, family situation and third parties’ data along with supporting documents, on the basis of your consent and in accordance with current legislation, our Study Agreement and our Annual Call for Applications, so that we evaluate and select postgraduate students who meet the conditions and the criteria for tuition waiver. This data is transmitted to the MA’s Study Program Committee to decide about your fee waiver application, on the basis of your consent and in accordance with our Study Agreement, our Annual Call for Applications and the current legislation.
[e] Assignment contracts with our Academic Partners, Professional Guests and Administrative Staff. You provide us with:
- Identity Data (Name, Father's and Mother's Name, Identity or Passport Number, Date of Birth, Social Security Number, Tax Number, Tax Office)
- Contact data (Postal address, mobile phone, email address)
- Financial Data (IBAN Number, Beneficiary’s Name, Bank)
All the above information will only be used to fulfill our obligations deriving from your contract with us and the Special Account for Research Funds of Panteion University to which we are required to transmit the above data, on the basis of your consent and in accordance with our Study Agreement and the current legislation. You also provide us with a photo and a short bio to share it on our website on the basis of our legitimate interest to communicate our partnerships that enhance the MA’s aims and purposes and on the basis of your consent given in writing.
3.2. Information Collected from Other Sources: Distance learning requires digital presence of participants in our presentations, as well as posting of recorded audio and visual material on the educational platform, in accordance with current legislation about distance learning system, our Study Agreement and our Annual Call for Applications, on the basis of our legitimate interest to provide our educational services to our students and on the basis of your consent given in writing. Access to this recorded material is offered exclusively to those registered in the program.
Events such as Bootcamp, Hackathon, Field Exercises, Field Research Activities, and Inauguration are subject to photography and filming. Selected moments of audiovisual material (screenshots, short clips, video recordings, photographs) from courses which relate to and/or include participants’ names, speeches and images, may also be made public on the website and social media on the basis of our legitimate interest to communicate our activities and partnerships and promote the MA’s aims and purposes and on the basis of your consent given in writing.
The MA has official accounts on social media. We are not responsible for the way or the means by which each social network processes your data and it is your responsibility to be duly informed of their respective Privacy Policies.
4. Legal Bases for Collecting and Processing Personal Data We process your personal information in accordance with GDPR and current legislation based on the following legal bases:
- Fulfilling contractual obligations which derive from:
a) our Study Agreement i.e. the identity, contact, demographic, biographical data you provide us with when you apply for the program, the additional data you provide us when you register in the program, the financial, family, and health data you provide us when you apply for a tuition waiver, as well as the audiovisual data we record during presentations and post on our educational platform and
b) Assignment Contracts with our Academic Partners, Professional Guests and Administrative Staff i.e. identity, contact and financial data you provide us with for the execution of your contract with us and the Special Account for Research Funds of Panteion University to which we are required to transmit the above data on the basis of your consent and in accordance with our Study Agreement and the current legislation. This data is also transmitted to the Secretariats of the two collaborating Departments responsible for creating university accounts and emails for our partners, and giving access to the student database and e-class platform, in collaboration with the university’s IT Department, on the basis of your consent and in accordance with our Study Agreement and our Annual Call for Applications.
- Pursuing legitimate interests for the collecting and processing of your personal data i.e. the audiovisual data we record during presentations and post on our educational platform and the audiovisual data (screenshots, short clips, video recordings, photographs) we record during events and/or courses which relate to and/or include participants’ names, speeches and images, and publish on the website and social media on the basis of your consent.
- Your consent to the collecting and processing of your personal data i.e. the data you provide us with through your application for attending the program, upon your registration in the program, through your application for a tuition waiver, when communicating with us via our email address, the audiovisual data we record during presentations and post on our educational platform and the audiovisual data (screenshots, short clips, video recordings, photographs) we record during events and/or courses and publish on the website and social media. The data you provide us with for the execution of Assignment Contracts with us and the Special Account for Research Funds of Panteion University to which we are required to transmit the above data. The identity and biographical data (photo and short bio) you provide us with to share it on our website on the basis of our legitimate interest to communicate our partnerships that enhance the MA’s aims and purposes and on the basis of your consent given in writing. The data we are required to transmit to the Secretariats of the two collaborating Departments responsible for enrolling the students, creating university accounts and emails for our students and partners, and giving access to the student database and e-class platform, in collaboration with the university’s IT Department, on the basis of your consent and in accordance with our Study Agreement and our Annual Call for Applications.
- Complying with a legal obligation when collecting and processing your personal data i.e. the data we collect when you apply for a tuition waiver in accordance with Law 4957/2022, the audiovisual data we record during presentations and post on our educational platform, in accordance with current legislation about distance learning system, or in response to requests by government or law enforcement authorities, legal claims, compliance, investigative purposes, including disclosure of such information in relation to a legal process or litigation.
- Protecting a vital interest / Performing a task in the public interest. We reserve the right to collect and process your personal data in case of an emergency, as necessary, according to the current legal framework.
5. Disclosing of Personal Data We share your personal data in the following circumstances:
- Special Account for Research Funds of Panteion University, beneficiary of the tuition fees bank account, responsible for the remuneration of our Academic Partners, Professional Guests, Administrative Staff and suppliers, and the issue or receipt of the relevant invoices.
- The Secretariats of the two collaborating Departments, responsible for enrolling the students, creating university accounts and emails for our students and our partners, and giving access to the student database and e-class platform, in collaboration with the university’s IT Department.
- Service Providers: We use third-party providers for website hosting. These Service Providers are only given access to your information, as necessary, and they are prohibited from using or sharing your information for any other purposes.
- Legal Matters; Safety: We access or share your information to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; in connection with an investigation on matters related to public safety; as permitted by law; or otherwise as required by law. We may disclose your information to protect the security of the program, the website, servers, network systems, and databases or the rights of a third party.
- Fraud; Security: We access and disclose your information to detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or other technical issues.
- Consent: We share information with third parties when we have your consent.

7. Data Retention The period of data retention is decided depending on the case. For enrolled and graduated students, personal data will be stored for as long as the relevant provisions require. We may retain your personal information to: Comply with record retention requirements under the law; Defend or bring any existing or potential legal claims; Address any complaints; Support our legitimate interests.

Information Security We are committed to protecting the security of your information by implementing appropriate technical and organizational measures for the secure processing of your personal data and the prevention of accidental loss or destruction and unauthorized and/or illegal access to them, use, modification or disclosure. Even so, we cannot guarantee our security measures since the transmission of information via the internet is never completely secure.
Our website may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content and security of other websites, which are not governed by this Privacy Policy and we advise you to carefully study the Privacy Policies of the respective websites.

10. Your Personal Rights Relating to Your Data - Right to access: You have the right to be aware of and verify the lawfulness of the processing. Therefore, you have the right to access the data and receive additional information about its processing.

- Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): You have the right to request the erasure of your personal data when we process it based on your consent.
