AI Microtargeting in Politics (Thesis)

Our student, Stavros Dendrinos, has successfully completed his Master’s Thesis, entitled: "Ethical Implications of AI-Driven Microtargeting in Political Campaigns on Voter Autonomy and Democratic Processes".

His research explores how big data, psychological profiling, and hyper-personalized ads can be used to reinforce polarization, shape voter behavior, influence political outcomes, and challenge democratic integrity.

Through in-depth case studies of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election, Brexit, and emerging democracies, Stavros analyzes real-world examples of AI’s impact on democratic processes and emphasizes the urgent need for ethical guidelines and policy regulations to protect voter autonomy and prevent the manipulation of public opinion in the digital age.

This thesis was completed under the academic supervision of Dr. Stavros Kaperonis, Assistant Professor at Panteion University.
