Digital Advocacy in ACTION (Erasmus+ Internship)

Our student, Thomais Sarakinioti, successfully completed her Erasmus+ internship at “Energia per i Diritti Umani” (Energy for Human Rights), an Italian #NGO dedicated to promoting human rights and sustainable development, especially in underprivileged areas and vulnerable communities worldwide.

During her internship in #Rome, Thomais worked as a Digital Communications Assistant, focusing on improving the organization’s digital strategy and outreach. Her role involved contributing to key projects, including:

📚 “Biblioteca della Nonviolenza” – A library dedicated to promoting peace, nonviolence, and human rights education. Thomais worked on branding, developed a content strategy, and managed social media to increase engagement and awareness.

☮️ “World March for Peace and Nonviolence” – A global movement advocating for peace and conflict resolution. She led communication efforts, created promotional materials, and engaged local communities to raise awareness about the initiative.

🌍 Human Rights Research – Conducted a survey on human rights challenges in Senegal, Gambia, and India, forming the basis for a future advocacy project.

📢 Strategic Communication & Event Coordination – Designed communication plans and facilitated internal communication for effective event execution.

Through this diverse and hands-on experience, Thomais gained practical insights into digital advocacy, strategic communication, and international collaboration, helping to expand the NGO’s reach and impact.

This internship was completed under the academic supervision of Dr. Stavros Kaperonis, Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication, Media and Culture | Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences.
