In her Master’s project, our student Anna Maria Nella explores how digital transformation can help make higher education more inclusive, accessible, and equitable for the entire academic community.
By reviewing key research, global trends, and real-world case studies, Anna Maria proposes a practical digital action plan she calls “Inclusion 2.0”.
At its core is the need to bridge the digital divide through a comprehensive digital literacy program for all stakeholders. Everyone in higher education — from students to faculty and administrative staff — needs the skills, tools, and awareness to support and apply inclusive practices in a digital-first world.
The plan also outlines strategies to enhance teaching and learning through multimodal content, collaborative platforms, and AI tools. It emphasizes the importance of providing proper infrastructure, accessible equipment, and strong support and feedback systems — especially for students facing disabilities, mental health challenges, or socioeconomic barriers.
All these efforts work toward creating a more open, connected, and human-centered academic environment, where everyone feels valued and heard, and has the opportunity to co-create meaningful change.
